Question: “How Do I Get a Natural Look That Isn’t Plain?”
An Article by: ShadestoShoes.com
If you want a naturally beautiful look that doesn’t make you look tired or plain you might want to consider updating your makeup bag and trying out some products of a higher quality. However; there are ways to achieve these high end looks and using what you already own. We highly recommend watching the Youtube video below for more great examples. If you are unable to watch the video now, here are some tips to live by:
1. Start by washing and exfoliating your face, and allow your moisturizer to set in for 15 minutes before applying makeup.
2.Never over do concealer or foundation, trying to hard to cover up imperfections just makes them more noticeable. Proper blending is the most effective solution to covering up those unwanted areas.
3. Emphasize – Your eyes, should get the most attention. This draws the focus away from problem areas. The top lash line should be traced with a black eyeliner, and gray eye shadow apply with q-tip or small fine eye shadow brush. The inner/outer corner of your eyes , should get just a touch of white, or silver shadow and gently blend.
4. Use a neutral lip gloss and a light tan or beige lip liner to make lips more pouty. Try not to over use lip gloss.
5. Get sun kissed – You might have already tried bronzers in the past and not liked how you looked. But you shouldn’t rule this out, bronzers have come a long way and if you know how to apply them and what to use on your type of skin, you will look like a sun kissed goddess. Here are some tips when using bronzer :
1. Make sure your bronzer isn’t too dark, as it is not designed to color your skin but to simply add a glow or shimmer to it. Ideally you should never choose one which is more than 2 shades darker than your natural skin tone.
2. Keep foundation to a minimum when applying bronzer as this can make your complexion too orange and “dirty” when the bronzer is applied.
3. A cream or gel works best on drier skin, Use a bronzer that doesn’t rub off on your clothes (Show me). but if you have an oily complexion then a powder bronzer might give a better effect. If you are using a powder kind, you must apply it with the correct kind of brush – a wide and fluffy powder brush will work best (Show me).
4. Pat the brush into the colour then tap off any excess on the back of your hand. Apply to the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose, neck and chest and blend well. If your complexion is quite pale, apply a little pink blusher to your cheeks as well to give a more natural glow (Show me).
